MEET THE TEAM
The club is run by the following
It is my pleasure to introduce Kellie Owen, the Founder and Director of Darwin Gymnastics and Dance, and the esteemed Head of our Women’s Program.
Kellie’s career in gymnastics began as a competitive athlete. This foundation sparked a lifelong passion for the sport, leading her to work at various clubs across the UK, where she honed her technical knowledge and coaching philosophy.
Driven by a clear vision, Kellie channeled her extensive experience into creating a permanent, welcoming ‘gymnastics home’ for athletes of all levels. Her dedication ensures that Darwin Gymnastics is not just a club, but a long-lasting, supportive community.

Next, I’d like to introduce a truly vital member of our team: Kim Roberts.
Kim is a Director here at Darwin, and the brilliant Head Coach of our Recreational program. She embodies everything we stand for: fun, friendship, and a genuine love for teaching children.
Kim’s connection to the club is special; she is actually Kellie’s mother! Her journey began right where many of you are now—as a supportive parent on the sidelines. Her passion grew, leading her to qualify as a coach. Now, with over 20 years of coaching experience, she brings invaluable warmth and expertise to every recreational class.
Her goal is simple: to make gymnastics a fun and positive experience for every child who walks through our doors.

Next, I would like to introduce the heart and soul of our daily operations: Dawn Morgan.
Dawn is a Director and our Club Secretary, but she is so much more than that. Six years ago, as one of Kellie’s closest friends, Dawn was right there by her side helping to launch Darwin Gymnastics. She actually started as part of our coaching team, but she soon discovered her true calling as the face of our club.
Dawn handles all the ‘behind the scenes’ work that keeps us running smoothly—work that often goes unseen but is absolutely essential. She is the very first person you’ll meet when you arrive for your first class, and the friendly face wishing you a great day as you leave. We wouldn’t be where we are today without her dedication and friendship.

It is my absolute pleasure to introduce David Morgan, our Club Welfare Officer.
David has been an integral part of the Darwin family for over five years. As the father of one of our squad gymnasts, he understands our club from a parent’s perspective, which makes him the perfect person to look out for our community.
David’s role is vital: he is the person dedicated to the safety and well-being of our gymnasts, parents, and coaches alike. We truly couldn’t run without his regular ‘pop-ins’ and his commitment to making sure everyone feels safe and supported. Whether you have a concern or just need a friendly chat, David is always here for you.”

Next, I’d love to introduce a vital member of the team who keeps our gym running smoothly and safely: Andy Roberts.
Andy is our Health and Safety Officer. You might recognize him as Kellie’s dad and Kim’s husband—yes, we are truly a family affair here at Darwin Gymnastics!
Having everyone on board means we share a genuine, personal commitment to the club. Andy manages the essential work of maintaining our health and safety standards. While much of his work happens behind the scenes, his dedication ensures that our facility is always a secure and professional environment for every single gymnast, parent, and coach.
We are incredibly grateful to have his expertise and support in keeping our Darwin family safe every day

Next, I want to introduce someone who has truly grown with us: Sarah, our Club Director and Office Manager.
Sarah’s journey with Darwin started just like many of yours—as a dedicated parent watching her daughter dance and tumble with us. Even after her daughter headed off to college and moved on to new adventures, Sarah stayed. She had become such a part of the fabric of this club that we couldn’t let her go!
Today, she is a Director and a dear friend to us all. You’ll find her doing a bit of everything: helping our young gymnasts on the floor as a Level 1 coach, and working tirelessly behind the scenes with Dawn to keep our administration running perfectly. Sarah, thank you for choosing to stay with the Darwin family

Behind every gymnast’s success and every smile in this gym is a team of people who give their hearts to this sport. I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible individuals who are the true heartbeat of Darwin Gymnastics and Dance.
First, to our lead and specialized coaching team:
Magda, our WAG Level 2, whose technical expertise guides our girls every day, Veronika, who is worked hard to achieve her Level 1; Caitlin and Amee, our other dedicated Level 1 coaches; and Rownie and Chloe, our fantastic Gymnastics Activity Instructor and Qualified Dance Teacher, who brings the perfect blend of movement and rhythm to our sessions.
A club like ours thrives on the kindness and time of those who give back. A huge thank you to Laura and Amy, our wonderful volunteer coaches.
And finally, to our future: our Young Leaders Ellie, Beau. You are more than just assistants; you are role models for our youngest members, showing them what hard work and kindness look like.
To all of you: You aren’t just coaches, volunteers, or leaders—you are the foundation of this club. Your energy, your late nights, and your belief in these children are why we are a family. We simply couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for being the heart of Darwin
